Cool Nerf Guns
The way that we’ve always used Nerf guns has been simple and has mainly involved us jumping out of cupboards and wardrobes and one-time friends, commencing to fire foam darts at them. Once we got carried away and there was a light pistol-whipping too, but the less said about that the better.
Nowadays though, Nerf has provided a plethora of actual Nerf games, from the ancient and ill-fated
Nerf Arena to the more modern and awful Wii game,
Nerf N-Strike. We think we’ll stick to jumping out of wardrobes, thanks – which should be ever scarier when holding Nerf guns like these!

Nerf Blaster
Source
Another Direct Threat mod, this massive unnamed blaster is based on one of Nerf’s larger models - the chunky Nerf Firefly. Decorated with a cool silver finish, this looks simply magnificent. We're willing to bet it packs quite the wallop too!
Majestic Reaver Maverick
Source
With a lengthened barrel and hacking blade for when enemies get in close, the Reaver is definitely one of the more formidable mods we’ve seen – though it’s still beaten by
G-Gnome’s WMD PC mod and
Khowdee’s TF2 Sentry Mod.
Don’t be fooled by the paintwork though, as the under-blade is actually made of foam rubber.
Metallic Maverick
Source
This mod, made by a painter who takes commissions and sells his work over eBay, is unusual in that it keeps the garish purple of the standard Maverick but gives it a worn, metallic finish. At least the bright yellow has been replaced with silver and bronze and we especially like the dents that have been added to the chassis.
Realistic Maverick
Source
This Nerf Maverick doesn’t really have theme like the ones above, but it still looks great. The artist, boon119, has gone for a realistic look that replaces the usual bright colours with a metallic finish.
Do you feel lucky, Punk?
Jules' Nerf Mod
Source
A steampunk derringer-alike, this two-shot pistol is based on the Nerf Nite Finder – one of the smallest guns. The extra details were added to the body with polymer clay, but we most like the small brooch added above the grip. It's named for French sci-fi author Jules Verne, who wrote 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Nerf Vulcan WWII Mod
Source
Another Nerf chaingun mod, the creator claims a WWII inspiration, though it honestly looks a bit futuristic to us. We think you’d be more likely to see this green and silver design in
Halo than on the beaches of Normandy!
Nerf Lancer
Source
Based on the Lancer rifle seen in
Gears of War, this Nerf is based (like many of the larger mods) on the Nerf Longshot rifle. It includes a faux under-barrel chainsaw, plus a glowing
Gears emblem.
Locust hordes not included.
